There are countless books written on how to live prosperously and the 12 steps to 112 steps to prosperity according to many authors. However, the Author and Finisher of our faith says that there is basically one way to true prosperity: OBEDIENCE. God says that if you obey His commands, there are countless blessings He’ll pour upon your life.
What are His commands?
Unlike the children of Israel during the Old Covenant who had hundreds laws to follow, we who are under the New Covenant only have 2 commands to follow. Jesus reveals those two commandments in Matthew 22:37-40, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” I caution you to not make the mistake of thinking that love is simply an emotion; NO, it’s not! Love is a decision and God has called us to make the decision to make love our lifestyle.
Obedience to God and His Word, releases a myriad of blessings that some of us did not even know existed! He wants us to have them, and as with any covenant, both parties in the covenant must bring something to the table. God brings bountiful blessings, blessings that we all want, and our part of the covenant is obey our Heavenly Father; the One Who knows ALL things, can do ALL things, and Who has ALL things.
