Daddy Will Do It For You.

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord! I give honor and praise to our God for the great things he has done. Truly or Lord and Savior is worthy to be praised, from the rising of the Sun…. to the going down of the same! Let me take a moment to thank God for his faithfulness, as always he showed up on Sunday morning. There was a sweet spirit in the house as Min. Sonya Chaney brought forth the word of God. Her message “Daddy Will Do It For You” came from Deuteronomy 2:2-7 her key verse was verse 7-For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. Minister Chaney reminded us that what ever we go through, God will fix it. We do not have to worry or fret, He has our back. Everyone is having problems. It doesn’t matter what you are going through, God can and will deliver you. We sometimes go through hell and high water but God “Our Daddy” is there to do it for us. He will fix it if we let him. She declared that she was a survivor and was going to step out in spite of her problems. She continued to tell us to get the victory. How do we allow our father to fix things….
#1- totally trust God in the midst of your circumstances. This is the only way you will make it out.
#2- Stand as you go through the wilderness. God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask or think.
#3- Know who your Daddy is- When you’ve been through hell and high water you must know who you belong to.
Moses led the people and they began to complain about him. There are times when we stay in situations longer because we complain. We as God’s people must know who he is in the midst of what we go through. We must step out and continue to do what God has called us to do even when it is uncomfortable. When you know who you belong to; there is no need to complain. Know you belong to God the one who can fix it all.
#4 Meditate on the word- Verse 5 tells us to meddle not (or provoke) anyone to war. We must meditate on God’s word and trust him for ourselves. There are times when we think that others should be there for us, but they are unable to… we cannot always look to others, we must look to God for our strength. Look to his word for our deliverance and help. We must continue to press on in spite of everything we go through and do what God wants us to do.
#5-Hang on to who God says we are- Hang on to his word and what he says about us personally. We are his children, and give him thanks because he will do just what he says.
Min. Chaney began to give her personal testimony of how the devil tried to defeat her and keep her from going forth. It was a move or courage for her to stand up before the people. But God had her back. Her heavenly father did it for her, and gave her the victory! The sweet spirit of the Lord continued to dwell within the house through intercession and prayer. You could feel the love of the saints moving from heart to heart and breast to breast. I have attended many church services and I love it when God comes to church, but I am even more blessed when he comes to church to find us loving and encouraging each other. Love dwells in that house! I thank God for Minister Chaney and her courage and obedience to go forth in spite of what she may be going through. She not only brought forth the word but she proved to the enemy by getting up that “Daddy will do it for you”. God is an awesome God!

Prayer to Watch What You Say

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Current Mood:Faith-filled emoticon Faith-filled & Blessed emoticon Blessed

I believe this is an awesome prayer and I wanted to share it with you. This prayer, as well as the other prayers I’ve shared with you this week, can be found in the book ‘Prayer That Avail Much’ by Germaine Copeland. This particular prayer, I believe, addresses a problem that we all need help in; which is having control over our mouths. The Bible says in James 3:8, “but no man can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” The Bible also says that death and life are in the power of the tongue, so with that said, it only makes sense to ask and work with the Holy Spirit in helping you to control your mouth.

I encourage you to first read the prayer and then pray this prayer aloud. I say read the prayer first so that you’ll know what you’re praying and so you can get into agreement with this prayer. And while you can certainly pray silently, I strongly recommend you to pray this prayer aloud because there is power in speaking aloud the Word of God. The Bible says in Hebrews 4:12 that the Word of God is alive and active. The Amplified translation states: ‘For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective].’ God also says in Isaiah 55:11 that, “As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” Therefore, get into agreement with God’s Word, which is alive and filled with power, and speak His Words out of your mouth while believing in your heart.

If you are unable to get away for a few moments, then I strongly urge you to read and pray this prayer silently now, print out this prayer (or go to page 28-29 if you have this book), and begin praying this prayer aloud during your alone time with God. You can meditate on this prayer since it is packed with God’s Word, and I’d recommend praying this prayer until it becomes your own. You can also look up the Scripture references following the prayer and meditate on them as well. The goal is for you to get into agreement with the Word of God (heart, mind and soul), to speak out what God says about the matter, to believe God for what He said, and receive! Remember that God’s Word is alive and is packed with absolute power!

PRAYER TO WATCH WHAT YOU SAY

Father, today I make a commitment to You in the name of Jesus. I turn from speaking idle words and foolishly talking things that are contrary to my true desire to myself and toward others. Your Word says that the tongue defiles, that the tongue sets on fire the course of nature, that the tongue is set on fire of hell.

In the name of Jesus, I submit to godly wisdom that I might learn to control my tongue. I am determined that hell will not set my tongue on fire. I renounce, reject, and repent of every word that has ever proceeded out of my mouth against You, God and Your operation. I cancel its power and dedicate my mouth to speak excellent and right things. My mouth shall utter truth.

Because I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, I set the course of my life for obedience, for abundance, for wisdom, for health, and for joy. Set a guard over my mouth, O Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Then the words of my mouth and my deeds shall show forth Your righteousness and Your salvation all of my days. I purpose to guard my mouth and my tongue that I might keep myself from calamity.

Father, Your Words are top priority to me. They are spirit and life. I let the Word dwell in me richly in all wisdom. The ability of God is released within me by the words of my mouth and by the Word of God. I speak Your Words out of my mouth. They are alive in me. You are alive and working in me. So, I can boldly say that my words are words of faith, words of power, words of love, and words of life. They produce good things in my life and in the lives of others because I choose Your Words for my lips, and your will for my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Bitten But Not Beaten

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Praise from whom all blessing flow! Good morning everyone, truly this is a great day to be in the land of the living. Regardless of what we go through… I am grateful that we are “Still here” because it beats the alternative. Before I get too excited let give honor and praise to our Bishop Elect Overseer A. Ray Rouson for that powerful and uplifting word on Sunday morning.  To God be the Glory for the great things he had done, and for what he is doing in this present day. Pray with me while I give you the high lights, the service was so wonderful that I can hardly type this message with out getting overly excited. I may have to pause a moment just to dance in between paragraphs.  If you were not there, know that someone is praying for you, but let me remind you that God shows up every week and he looks for you and longs to be with you.

Bishop-Elect A. Ray Rouson Reminded us that we are victorious in every situation in our lives. His message “Bitten But Not Beaten came from Acts 28:1-5 the key verse 28:3. The message was about Paul’s life, he had survived  the storm and barely made it to shore, he drifted to shore on pieces of the ship and when he finally thought he would get comfort and warmth by building a fire, something happened. A viper came out of the fire and bit him. He did not panic, Paul shook it off and it fell back into the fire where it came from.  That’s enough right there to give God praise. People tend to think that when we have problems in our lives that it something that we have done, or it’s because our relationship is not intact with God. Pastor A. Ray, went on to say that there is a place, where everything is perfect. A place where you have no troubles, no worries, no bills, no sickness, no pain, that place is called heaven. Regarldess if you to accept it or not you will have problems and trials down here on this earth. But it’s not what you go through. It’s how you react to what you go through.  We must understand that we are people of purpose and be ready for the enemy when he attacks.

It does not matter how he comes, what matters is how we react and handle it. Every now and then we get bitten, but we’re not beaten.   Paul did not panic because he knew his purpose, God had already told Paul his purpose.  Everything that Paul  went through led him to his purpose. He was a mixed with Hebrew and Roman. Which means that he was about to Go before the Romans.  You may wonder why you are like you are, why your parents are like they are, but God has you life already mapped out. He knows your purpose. Paul went through so many things and he did not have time to catch his breath after the shipwreck, so don’t expect the devil to give you time to catch your breath.   The viper came out of the fire. You haven’t been bitten until you’ve been bitten by those who are supposed to be close to you and in the fire. The ones you trusted, the “Church folks” but you must make a decision when the bite comes if you are going to allow it to poison your system or shake it off.  Paul said nothing, he did not tell everyone what happened, he did not talk about the bite, he shook it off. The snake or viper bit him but it did not beat him.

Three steps to overcoming the bite of the enemy.

  • Shake it off- You don’t always have time to look for your prayer partner, or pull out your bible when the enemy attacks. You must move quickly.
  • Believe what God spoke to you about your purpose. Trust him and know that he has your life all mapped out.
  • Send the devil back where he came from. Send him to hell where he came from. And don’t allow the poison to affect you.

God does not always give us the Itinerary to our destination  he just tell us where we are going and he leaves out the details but it’s up to us to trust him.  Things are not always going to go our way and God may allow us to experience uncomfortable situations in order to help others. He knows we can handle it.  It’s time for us to make a choice. Are we going to allow the poison to effect us? Are we going to let it get in our system and beat us or are we Bitten but Not Beaten”!

Offense – You Don’t Have to Take It!

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Current Mood:Faith-filled emoticon Faith-filled

OFFENSE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE YOURS!  YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IT!

One thing that is easy for all of us to “take” is offense.  Have you ever noticed the wording used when we speak about someone who’s been offended?  “She’s taken offense to something I said” or “I took offense to you saying that about me.”  One thing that I’ve asked God to do is help me not “take” offense, even if someone is purposely trying to offend me.   I know this requires humility, meekness and lots of patience; however, all of these traits are within the Holy Spirit.  Like everyone else, each day I will be given my fair share of opportunities to be offended; however it is my choice to “take” it or not.

Webster defines offense as:  1: an act of stumbling: a cause or occasion of sin : stumbling block2: something that outrages the moral or physical senses3 a: the act of attacking : assault b: the means or method of attacking or of attempting to score c: the offensive team or members of a team playing offensive positions d: scoring ability4 a: the act of displeasing or affronting b: the state of being insulted or morally outraged <takes offense at the slightest criticism>5 a: a breach of a moral or social code : sin , misdeed b: an infraction of law ; especially : misdemeanor

I can honestly say that I thank God for the Holy Spirit, as in Him live peace, and He lives within me.  The Bible tells us to live in peace and to live peaceable with all men.  I know, as I’m sure you do too know, that’s not the easiest thing to do.  In fact, it can be pretty difficult to do.  Sometimes there are people who just don’t like you because they don’t like themselves.  They look at you, and though all you’ve said was “Good Morning” or “Good Afternoon” to all as you entered the room, somehow people have decided that you were this and that.  I have had people, even those whom I was close to,  try to tear me down, speak maliciously against me, and accuse me of things that’s far from my character – even on a bad day.  As with most of you, I’ve been talked about, called names, wrongly accused, berated, amongst many other things.  Yes, it’s pained me, especially when such things come from people you know or love.  Yes, I wanted to “set them straight”.  Yes, I felt that I had the right to “let them have it” and yes, I wanted to vindicate myself; however, the Holy Spirit tells me to “stand still and see the salvation of the Lord”.  I’ve had God tell me several times that He would vindicate me, and each time I listened and followed His way of doing things (which means letting Him take care of it) He did!  It is written in Isaiah 54:17 (AMP)

But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord [those in whom the ideal Servant of the Lord is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says the Lord.

Another interesting Scripture is Matthew 24:10-12, which reads:

And then many will be offended and repelled and will begin to distrust and desert [Him Whom they ought to trust and obey] and will stumble and fall away and betray one another and pursue one another with hatred. And many false prophets will rise up and deceive and lead many into error. And the love of the great body of people will grow cold because of the multiplied lawlessness and iniquity

This says a lot.  Distrust and apostasy will abound, people will betray one another (even family) and pursue each other with hatred and more (versus 11 & 12).  Notice all this happens AFTER offense has been taken.  This is SERIOUS, as the spirit of offense never travels by itself, but with bitterness, resentment, self righteousness, and oftentimes with unforgiveness.  This then disrupts the boy of Christ by causing division and strife, which adversely affects your relationship with God.  You start off feeling angry, which you do have a right to feel that way given the offense.  But the Scriptures say “anger, but sin not.”  More often than not, we get the first part right – anger- but we forget the last part – but sin not.  Once you’re angry, bitterness and resentment immediately follows, and next thing you know, you feel the need to want to tell someone other than the offending party about the offense.  We put our telling under “just venting”; however, we secretly want to expose someone else’s shortcoming and get the other person to agree with you and take your side.  If successful, then you just infected a member of the body of Christ with your problem and now they are upset and want to “vent” to one of their friends about it.  Come Sunday morning, over ½ the congregation is upset with Sister So & So, who is wondering why everyone seems to be giving her the cold shoulder.  Now, instead of hearing the preacher and being edified, you’re busy giving attention to your dislike of Sister So & So.  As you know, this story could end in several different ways and most of them are not good.

I remember there was a time in my life when I was easily offended.  You didn’t have to say much to set it off.  Not only that, I would hold on to the offense for months and sometimes years, periodically reliving the event and getting upset all over again.  I’d wake up in the morning and that’s one of the first things on my mind.  Back then I thought I was doing the noble thing by not approaching the person who offended me; however, I was harboring all kinds of resentment, bitterness and unforgiveness toward that person– not to mention self righteousness.  It took God, and God only, to deliver me from the trap of offense.

I see how people today are offended and my heart goes out to them.  Through the life of someone I know, I am witnessing what Jesus spoke about in Mark 4:17, “And they have no real root in themselves, and so they endure for a little while; then when trouble or persecution arises on account of the Word, they immediately are offended (become displeased, indignant, resentful) and they stumble and fall away”  He also say in Matthew 11:6:  “And blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) is he who takes no offense at Me and finds no cause for stumbling in or through Me and is not hindered from seeing the Truth.”

I believe for this person, she’s gotten offended repeatedly by church folk over the years.  I believe part of the offense comes from having unreasonable expectations, which is also fertile ground for offense.  I am witnessing how it is changing her and putting her in opposition with the body of Christ, inadvertently, because she now questions the work and move of the Holy Ghost, Christ being the spotless Lamb of God and the Bible being the inerrant Word of God.  I can but only pray for her and anyone else like her, and let the Holy Spirit reveal to me if there’s anything else I can do.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin). Eph 4:30

Saints, please know that our enemy uses offense to bait us because he knows offenses upsets your walk with God and hurts your anointing.  Here are ways to keep you from “taking” offenses:

  1. DECLARE:  Decide that you will no longer take offenses from this point forward, with the help of the Holy Spirit, even if someone is purposely trying to offend you.  Declare this each day!  Please note that you will be tested once you’ve made this declaration.
  2. FORGIVE:  Decide that you will forgive and forgive quickly!  Paul admonishes us to forgive to keep the enemy from gaining advantage over us (2 Corinthians 2:11).  Forgive others even if YOU’RE right – as Jesus promises that God will not forgive us if we do not forgive others (Matthew 6:15).
  3. MOVE FOWARD:  Philippians 3:13-14 “forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.”
  4. FOLLOW CHRIST:  “Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]” Philippians 2:5

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray for every man, woman and child reading this prayer.  God, we know that the thief cometh not but to steal, kill and destroy but You, Oh Lord, cometh to give us life and life more abundantly.  Help us to receive the abundant life You have bought for us on Calvary.  Help us, Oh Lord, to not do anything that would grieve the Holy Spirit nor that would take our eyes off of you.  Right now, Lord, we forgive everyone who’s ever sinned against us and we cast down the spirit of offense in the name of Jesus, and seal it with the Blood of Jesus.  From this point forward, we choose to operate in the mind of Christ and we forgive any future offenses quickly and completely, remembering their sins no more.  By the awesome guidance of the Holy Spirit, we choose to walk in love, peace and joy, in Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.
