“You   & God = The Majority”

We are blessed in this country with freedoms that others can only dream about.  Do you remember a few years ago, how long the lines were in South Africa for blacks voting the first time in the country’s history?  Or did you see recently how many in Iraq were willing to go in harm’s way to cast a ballot?  Here in America, we enjoy the concept that the majority rules.  In most matters and meetings, what the greatest number of people want is what will be.

Well, do you know another type of majority works in your life if you will receive it?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  It does not matter how many demons or men seek your downfall.  It does not matter what normally happens to a person in your situation.  The God of the universe is your Father!  The Bible says it is His Good pleasure to give you the kingdom!   So, stop taking polls.  The tally is already in You & God are the majority!

I love you with the love of the Lord!

A Prayer to Heal Damaged Emotions

“To appoint to them that mourn in Zion, to give to them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3

Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to You with a feeling of shame and emotional hurt. I confess my transgressions to You [continually unfolding the past till all is told]. You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. You are my Hiding Place, and You, Lord, preserve me from trouble. You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. I have chosen life. According to Your Word, You saw me while I was being formed in my mother’s womb; and on the authority of Your word, I was wonderfully made. Now I am Your handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus.

Father, You have delivered me from the spirit of fear, and I shall not be ashamed. Neither shall I be confounded and depressed. You gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that I might be a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You might be glorified. I speak out in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, offering praise with my voice and making melody with all my heart to the Lord. Just as David did in 1 Samuel 30:6, I encourage myself in the Lord.

I believe in God Who raised from the dead Jesus, Who was betrayed and put to death because of my misdeeds and was raised to secure my acquittal, absolving me from all guilt before God. Father, You anointed Jesus and sent Him to bind up and heal my broken heart and liberate me from the shame of my youth and the imperfections of my caretakers. In the name of Jesus, I choose to forgive all those who have wronged me in anyway. You will not leave me without support as I complete the forgiveness process. I take comfort and am encouraged and confidently say, “The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. What can man do to me?”

My spirit is the candle of the Lord searching all the innermost parts of my being, and the Holy Spirit leads me into all truth. When reality exposes shame and emotional pain, I remember that the suffering of this presents life are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to me and in me and for me and conferred on me! The chastisements needful to obtain my peace and wellbeing was upon Jesus, and with the stripes that wounded Him, I was healed and made whole. As Your child, Father, I have a joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. This hope will never disappoint, delude, or shame me; for God’s love has been poured out in my heart through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to me.

In His name I pray, amen.

Acts 9:10-18

Now look at your neighbor and say, “I was blind but now I see.”  Now let me give you a little history on Saul.  Saul was getting rid of all of the Christians in Jerusalem.  When he heard that the Christians were in Damascus, he asked the chief priests for permission to get rid of them there too.   They said yes, so Saul gathered up his little posse and they started down the road.  They had been walking for a half day now and they were getting hot, tired and irritated.  One of his men said that they needed to rest but Saul said that the longer they stayed, the longer the Christians had to get away, so they kept going until suddenly a bright light came down.  Saul was thrown off his horse.  A voice called out to him, “Saul why are you persecuting me?” Saul asked, “who are you?”  The Lord says, “I am Jesus, who you are persecuting.” Saul asked what he should do.  The Lord said, “Go into the city” and I’ll tell you watcha’ need to do.  After the light was gone, Saul couldn’t see.  The men that were with him stood still from fear but they took him to the city.  He did not eat or drink anything for three days.  And that’s where our scriptures came about; Ananias not wanting to heal Saul.  This teaches us about blessing people we don’t want to bless because we don’t think they deserve it.  He obeyed and Saul got his sight back.  Saul’s restoration of sight teaches us about God’s forgiveness.  If God was to punish anyone, it should have been Saul, but God used him to win souls.  No life is useless for God.  He gave purpose to every person in the world.  Thank you and have a blessed week.

“Use Your Keys”

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed on earth.”  Matt. 16:19

So many saints live defeated lives because they haven’t taken the time to realize the weapons they have in their possession.  We have been given the authority to use the power (the dynamos) of Jesus’name to tear down (blow up) the strongholds of the enemy on our lives.  We have the authority to walk in victory as much as we desire.  But a lot of us are afraid of confrontation with the enemy.  Somehow, we fear satan’s ability over us, more than we reverence God’s power over him.  We forget that Jesus said, “I will give onto you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever thou shall loose on earth shall be loosed on earth.”

You see, we have been given a set of keys by the Lord.  The keys, by themselves, have no power.  They will only work with our faith.  With this combination, they are able to open doors that are otherwise closed to you.  They are also able to bind up strongholds the enemy has set in high places in our lives and render them powerless.  They are able to loose (release) the blessings of God in our lives.

Someone said that possession is only nine-tenths of the law.  We can possess authority and power, but if we don’t know how to use it, we will still be locked in our prisons, like the prison who has been released with the jail cell door swung wide open, but who sits on his bunk lamenting his troubles.  You have all that you need to come out of this trial you’re facing!  You have all you need to live victorious in Christ!  Use your keys!

Bishop’s Thoughts…

“WAITING TO BECOME”

“…and it does not appear what we shall be, but we know when He shall appear, we shall be like Him…”   1 John 3:2

We are a work in progress.  No matter who you are and what you have, God is still working on you.  This fact is both a blessing and a burden.  It is a blessing because it means that our Lord has not given up on us.  It is s burden because it means that there are still trials left in our process.  What you endured on yesterday helped to make you who you are today.  The storm of today will make you stronger for the days to come.  Just what motivates God to allow us to go through all these changes?  In a word…love.  He loves us enough to make us what He knows we can be.  You and God can achieve anything.  No matter your failures, only God sees what you can be.  He loves you.  Do you trust Him?  Keep waiting on the Lord.  He will strengthen your heart.  He is making you.  You are in the process.  You are in His hands and waiting to become.
